Court History The first coronation in October of 1980 for the 1st Reign, the Turquoise Reign, had as it Emperor I Larry, as Empress I Glenda North. Crown Prince I Alfredo and as Crown Princess I Venus were selected. Empress II Linda, Crown Prince II Glen McMannus and Crown Princess II Desire were chosen to serve midway into the reign for vacant positions. Crown Prince III Doug and Crown Princess III Brenda Buffet were installed in July of 1981. The second coronation in October of 1981 for the 2nd Reign, the Lion and the Lamb Reign, installed as Emperor II Glen McMannus and as Empress III Venus. Crown Prince IV Leon and Crown Princess IV Farrah were installed in July of 1982. Alexis was chosen midway into the reign as Crown Princess V. Articles of Incorporation were filed with the Idaho Secretary of State on September 29, 1982, listing the Empress as President, the Emperor as Vice President, the Crown Princess as Secretary and the Crown Prince as Treasurer. By Proclamation Mikki Brewer was made Queen Mother Suprema in Perpetua. The third coronation in October of 1982 for the 3rd Reign, the Gem and Fashion Reign, installed as Emperor III Robert Flores and as Empress IV Dusty LeMans. Bonnie was chosen midway into the reign as Empress V. Crown Prince V Doug Flanders and as Crown Princess VI Victoria were installed in July of 1983. By Proclamation Ken Gough was made Master of protocol for Life. The fourth coronation in October of 1983 for the 4th Reign, the Dynasty Reign, installed as Emperor IV Raymond and as Empress VI Alexis (she was Empress III Venus). They Won by write-in. There was no Crown Prince and the Crown Princess was Regent Crown Princess VII Brenda Buffet installed in July of 1984. The fifth coronation in October of 1984 for the 5th Reign, the Ruby Note Reign, installed as Emperor V Roy and as Empress VII Victoria. Crown Prince VII Robert Strain and as Crown Princess VIII Lapis were installed in July of 1985. The date for future coronations was set in July of each year. The sixth coronation in October of 1985 for the 6th Reign, the Electrifying Emerald Reign, installed as Emperor VI Cindy and as Empress VIII Jade. This reign served only 9 months due to a change in the Coronation date. The Open Arms Award for out of state persons was began this year. The seventh coronation in July of 1986 for the 7th Reign, the Celebration of the Gem Reign, installed as Emperor VII Troy Pickering, as Empress IX Lapis, as Crown Prince VIII K C Cunningham and as Crown Princess IX Martini. By Proclamation Ned Brewer was made King Father Suprema in Perpetua. The eighth coronation in July of 1987 for the 8th Reign, the Gay Pride of the Gem Reign, installed as Regent Emperor VIII Cindy, who filled a vacancy when a no vote was cast for the Emperor candidate, as Empress X Jackie Blue, as Crown Prince IX Don Carroll and as Regent Crown Princess X Victoria. A Proclamation was made that beginning with the next reign all Monarchs of a reign hold the same number in their title. The ninth coronation in July of 1988 for the 11th Reign, the Insanity of the Gem Reign, installed as Emperor XI Scottie Manning (who defeated Robert Cross), as Empress XI Martini, as Crown Prince XI Steve Quintana and as Crown Princess XI Crystal Towers. The court scholarship was began this year and a celebration of the tenth anniversary of each Monarch’s step down was begun. The tenth coronation in July of 1989 for the 12th Reign, the Elegance of the Gem Reign, installed as Emperor XII Emil (who defeated Robert Cross), as Empress XII Victoria, as Crown Prince XII Vince Masurska and as Crown Princess XII Venetia. Midway into the reign Emperor Emil resigned and was replaced as Emperor XII by Vince Masurska. Steve Quintana served as Regent Crown Prince XII. The eleventh coronation in July of 1990 for the 13th Reign, the Fantasy of the Gem Reign, installed as Emperor XIII Troy Flagg (who defeated Robert Cross), as Empress XIII Tiffany, as Crown Prince XIII Jo Laib and as Crown Princesses XIII Bunny Bixler and Jolene Bixler. By Proclamation Crystal Towers was made Empress 13 ½ for life. Privy Council Members elected were Robert Cross and Walt Barnes. [Emperor XIII Troy Flagg was stripped of his title in 1997.] These were the last Crown Princes and Crown Princesses elected only by the Court membership. All future Crown Princes and Crown Princesses are now elected by the Community at Large. The twelfth coronation in July of 1991 for the 14th Reign, the Renaissance and Unity of the Gem, the Reign of Fire and Ice, installed as Emperor XIV Robert Cross, as Empress XIV Delorian (who defeated Brittany), as Crown Prince XIV Shawna Scott (who defeated Michael D Bixler), and as Crown Princess XIV Sophia (who later became known as Brooke). By Proclamation Steve Quintana was bestowed Emperor Emeritus for Life. A rebel court in Pocatello, the Royal Court of Southeastern Idaho, began during this reign. Privy Council Members elected were Russ Baldwin and Trina Michaelis. Privy Council President was Scott Manning, Privy Council Vice-President was Bob Horton and Privy Council Secretary was Don Carroll. Doug Flanders was Court Treasurer The thirteenth coronation in July of 1992 for the 15th Reign, the Prophecy of the Gem Reign, installed as Dual Emperor XV Dan and Norman (who won by a vote of 116 to Scottie Manning 77 and Glenn McMannus 29), as Dual Empress XV Bunny and Jolene Bixler (who won with 121 votes to 101 for Brittany), as Crown Prince XV Joel Redmond (who won with 111 votes over Jo Laib with 74 and Joey White with 35) and as Crown Princess XV Brenda Buffet (who won with 118 votes over 71 for Chyna and 33 for Tiffany). Danielle was Princess Royale. The formal name of the Reign of the Gem instead of the numeric designation was adopted by Proclamation. A College of Monarchs to assist current Monarchs was established. The Imperial Court of the Grand Tetons, based in Idaho Falls, a daughter court of our court, was incorporated on December 28, 1992. This court was set up rather hastily without full preparation as a court, to counteract the illegal creation of the Royal Court of Southeastern Idaho (These two courts later merged under the title of the Imperial Court of the Grand Tetons.) By Proclamation Ken Litz was granted the title of Prince Steward, Keeper of the Imperial Crown Jewels for Life. Privy Council Members elected were Craig LaChance, Bill Lorenzo and Walt Barnes. Privy Council President was Robert Cross, Privy Council Vice-President was Bob Horton and Privy Council Secretary was Troy Flagg. Vince Masurska was Court Treasurer. Susie Kelly was Court Secretary. [Crown Prince XV Joel Redmond was stripped of his title in 2002.] The fourteenth coronation in July of 1993 for the 16th Reign, the Destiny of the Gem Reign, installed as Emperor XVI Rick Buckman (who won with 77 votes over Troy Flagg at 63 and Brad Sparks with 43), as Empress XVI Trina Michaelis (who won with 123 votes over Stormy Weathers with 56), as Crown Prince XVI Joe Hempsmyer (151 yes and 22 no votes), and as Crown Princess XVI Diamond Lil (who won with 93 votes over Tiffany with 76 votes). Diamond Lil stepped down midway in her reign and was replaced with Regent Crown Princess XVI Venetia. Marlena was Princess Royale to Diamond Lil. Cassidy was Princess Royale to Venetia. Bill Tramontin was Prince Royale. Ambassadors were Dan Johnson, Bunny Bixler and Jolene Bixler. Diamond Lil was given the title of Princess 16 ½ to the Destiny of the Gem Reign. A collection of step down pins and programs was begun and will be displayed at each coronation. The Ball Chairperson’s Award was begun. By Proclamation, voting will not be held inside a bar. By Proclamation, the Oath of Honor was established for the Privy Council and for the Screening Committee. An extensive re-working of the Constitution and By-Laws began during this reign. The restructuring of the Jerry Swet Fund, set up to provide short-term assistance with living expenses for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, was began. Privy Council Members elected were Heather Katt who was replaced midway in her term by Vicki Laib, Tony Lancaster and Don Carroll. Danielle was Princess Royale. Joe Gallos was Prince Royale. Ambassadors were Delorian and Mary Ann Kelly. Queen Mother was Venetia. Danielle was Princess Royale. By Proclamation, the title of Gem Emperor and Gem Empress is given to those who successfully complete their reign. The seventeenth coronation in July of 1996 for the 19th Reign, the Ecstasy of the Gem Reign, installed as Emperor XIX Ken Litz (102 yes and 6 no votes), as Empress XIX Venetia Dior (93 yes and 15 no votes), as Crown Prince XIX Rich Bowen (90 yes and 17 no votes), and as Crown Princess XIX Twila Knight (who won with 68 votes over Dee Dee Snow with 36). Vicki Laib was Princess Royale. Dar Jensen was Prince Royale. Queen Mother was Mary Ann Kelly. By Proclamation Rose Empress 36 of Portland Maria was granted the title of Empress Emeritus for Life to the Ecstasy of the Gem Reign. Gina-Te was granted the title of Empress 19 ½ for Life. By Proclamation, all newly elected Empresses are to wear white floor length gowns. The restructuring of the Board of Directors occurred; the positions became four-year staggering terms instead of the reigning Monarchs. Bob Horton was elected as President, Scott Stewart as Vice-President, Craig LaChance as Secretary and Joey Croyle as Treasurer. By Proclamation Rose Empress 27 of Portland Hurricane Olivia was granted the title of Empress Emeritus for Life to the Serenity of the Gem Reign. By Proclamation Mary Ann Kelly was granted the title of Queen Mother for Life. King Father was Ron Allen. The official name of the court was changed to be The Imperial Sovereign Gem Court of Boise, Idaho, through new Incorporation with the State of Idaho on April 7, 1998. The Imperial Court of the Grand Tetons, our daughter court, was dissolved on July 25, 1998. David Smith became Board of Directors Vice-President and Vicki Laib was elected Board Treasurer. Privy Council Members elected were Joey Croyle, Paul Blackburn, and Steve Ford who was replaced midway in his term by Scott Stewart. The Crowning Ceremony at coronation became known as the White Ceremony when the new Emperor, Empress, Crown Prince and Crown Princess will be in white attire. Crown Prince Carlos passed away during his reign and was not replaces. Crown Princess Taylor Maid resigned midway in her reign and was not replaced. Queen Mother was Mary Ann Kelly. By Proclamation Empress I and IV of Chico Reba was granted the title of Empress Emeritus for Life to the Prophecy of the Gem Reign. By Proclamation Grand Duchess 27 of the Royal Court of San Francisco China Silk Bixler was granted the title of Empress 23 ½ to the Prophecy of the Gem Reign. Federal IRS 501c3 status was granted to the ISGCBI on March 6, 2001. Bob Horton was elected as Board of Directors President. There was no Crown Princess during this reign. Laya was Princess Royale. Dar Jensen and John Garcia were Prince Royale. Queen Mother was Mary Ann Kelly. Ambassadors were Tony Allard, Amber Flame, Venus and Alexis. By Proclamation Craig LaChance was granted the title of Emperor 24 ½ for life. By Proclamation, when a Regent successfully steps down, the full title is bestowed on that individual. The Court established the Jim Moore Medical Assistance Fund for providing short-term medical assistance for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
